How impaired does talking on the cell phone really make you while driving? Is it really comparable to driving under the influence of alcohol or driving while intoxicated? A study at the University of Utah shows that talking on your phone while driving may be more distracting than you thought. In many cases, people talking on their phones were even more distracted and impaired than those whose Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) was at the legal limit. Tests were done on both – hand-held and hands-free devices and both had frightening results. It’s estimated that more than 100 million US drivers talk on their phones while they’re behind the wheel.
